From the moment you pull up, you know that The Corner House is going to be something very special. Standing on, as its name suggests, a lovely large corner plot (almost 1400sq ft.) it is a picture perfect family home. Detached; three double bedrooms; lovely spacious light rooms; a nice village with good schools and great transport links; it is the home of today’s modern family. Built in 1997, we love the effortless flow throughout the house. The hallway sits fairly centrally leading you to the large reception rooms which, thanks to lovely large bay windows, are full of lovely sunshine. Originally separated by glazed doors, these have now been removed allowing the space between the living and dining rooms to open up even more. Both rooms have a contemporary feel with engineered oak wooden flooring, and in the dining room French doors open onto the front garden. And with Kef speakers in the ceiling – which you will also find in the kitchen and family bathroom - it’s a great space for entertaining. Meanwhile the living room, which is our favourite room in the house, focuses around the efficient jet master open fire. We can’t think of a better way to spend a winters’ Sunday afternoon, than curled up in here on the sofa, in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine! Across the hallway and you will find the kitchen breakfast room, the hub of every home. Again it’s a lovely size with plenty of space for a table and chairs, lots of storage in the well laid out, traditional style kitchen and comes with integrated appliances. In addition, just off the kitchen you also have a utility room with space for a washing machine and tumble dryer and very helpfully, a door to the garden and side courtyard, which will be ideal for kicking off muddy boots and coats after a country walk. Finally downstairs, there is also a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs the flow and space continue with a lovely galleried landing leading to the bedrooms. You really are spoilt as all three bedrooms are fabulously big with fitted wardrobes. The master is, of course, ensuite, with a stunning shower room, whilst the other two bedrooms share an equally stunning bathroom. And don’t forget to select your favourite tunes to listen to through those Kef speakers as you lie-back in a bubble filled bath and soak away the stresses of the day. Outside the lovely, large garden provides plenty of space for relaxing, entertaining and exercising those green fingers. Simply laid out mostly to lawn with a lovely terrace to the back which enjoys the south west facing aspect of the garden, it will be the perfect spot to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine in summer. Finally, there is a driveway with ample parking and a single garage. We think you’ll love The Corner House just the way it is, but what this property provides that is so rare, is a large house on a large plot so there is the potential to develop it further should you so wish. A planning application for a two storey and a single story rear extension was granted in 2007 which can be seen at Winchester City Council Planning Ref: 07/01668/FUL.
